Posey Royale

Posey Royale is a joyous, tightly-arranged swing ensemble from Asheville, North Carolina. 

We delight in re-imagining musical constellations from the swing era. Our sound is a polite nod to the clever voices who helmed the piano-driven bands of the 1930’s-40’s. Each of our arrangements is lovingly transcribed by hand (and ear) in order to stay true to the historic traditions, cadences, and vocabulary of their era. Our performances are celebratory expeditions into the sounds and styles of bandleaders who shaped the swing era while standing adjacent to history’s spotlight.

For special events

Posey Royale performs for dances, weddings, concerts, and educational events. Our sweet spot is as an all-acoustic, seven piece band comprised of piano, vocals, upright bass, guitar, trumpet, clarinet, and drums.

We can scale up to nine pieces or down each degree to solo piano.

We will absolutely travel!
